Objective
A new risk management and due diligence system for a multi-lateral agency, the UN Food & Agricultural Organization with the aim of enabling faster decisions that resulted in a greater number of high quality private sector collaborations that had been rigorously assessed with lesser employee effort.

Design Process
1. Research: We conducted quantitative, qualitative, and ethnographic research to understand how a private sector collaboration journey was conducted across the multiple teams involved.
2. Training: We trained a cross-functional team of stakeholders in behavioural design techniques.
3. Digital Design: Through customer/stakeholder co-creation exercises, we designed a new workflow, built a prototype, ran it through simulations, and shared empirical results internally.
4. Deployment: With an engineering team, we designed and implemented a technology solution, measured performance through multiple split tests, and calibrated the system using machine learning techniques.
5. Finalization: We delivered the final version of the design alongside extensive system training and capacity development resources to ensure that it was suitable for all stakeholders to use.
Results
The new system was designed through a co-creative exercise that leveraged the cognitive diversity of the organization, with results that saved days of processing time on workflows that took weeks to complete.
Conclusion
This exercise showed that with a clear understanding of the choice environment and the barriers that were preventing efficient and robust decision-making, a motivated and aligned project team can make big changes in a short period of time.
